"Companies at Risk from Political Cyber Attacks", by F. Douzet & S. Héon

Frédérick Douzet and Sébastien Héon wrote an article in Europe'sWorld, about the new type of cyber threats which companies are facing.

Traditional profit-driven cyber attacks on companies' information systems make increasing room for a set of new hazards. Critical infrastructures, such as Ukraine's and Germany's, are being more and more targeted for political purposes. Companies may be aimed at by patriotic groups for ideological issues, for national interests, or because of geopolitical tensions which they do not always feel related to.

There is a shift to a wider paradigm, with a new set of actors, such as mafias, patriot hackers and states. As the nature of these problems isn't only technical, companies must work with experts in geopolitics, and partner with the public sector.
